I was just interviewed on what are my 5 tips for being an effective and empowering speaker and thought I would share them with all of you!
It is never about you; it is always about the audience. People don’t care about you, they care about the value you bring to them.
Work backward: what do you want the audience to leave with? Be generous with your content.
You won’t please everyone, so don’t try. Just have a concise message that your avatar understands.
What is your call to action (CTA)? Are you in giving and generosity with your Call to Action? If you don’t know ask yourself these questions? Do you come from a place of abundance versus scarcity? Are you over-delivering?
Don’t give a huge novel for your biography to be read by an event planner. Your audience will not remember that. They will remember what you gave them, how you delivered, and how you made them feel.
Leadership starts from within. Leaders are self-aware and have an honest view of themselves and recognize their impact and influence on others. They lead authentically with personal values, purpose, and vision. Self-leadership means being responsible for results, choices, actions, inactions, behaviors, thoughts, communication, and attitude. It also means demonstrating resilience and consistent performance under pressure.
