Bonjour!
I want to take the time to recognize you if you are a mom….
MOTHERHOOD IS HARD!!!!!!!!! I never went to school for it.
No email or social media post I could make today could explain my journey of motherhood.
From my handsome firstborn son Jason to my beautiful adopted Lara, the daughter that I chose and came into my life at 2 days old on Jason's 5th birthday, to my incredible youngest daughter Chloe, a brilliant young lady. All bilingual! And I could stop the email there….yet there is the other side of motherhood the tears, the racism (my adopted daughter is African American), the hardship, the struggles…all of these are real.
And then there is my special daughter in my heart: beautiful Mikaela AND my 3 stepsons…
I could just say like every post I will probably read today on social media that being a mom to all of them is SIMPLY amazing and wonderful…..
Well, let me just say YES IT IS AND….IT IS HARD!!!!
I have studied business, leadership, and many other subjects that I have mastered….
AND Motherhood was never a subject I ever took in school or college, but to this day it is one of the most rewarding, and one that I work daily at. Motherhood for me was also a lot of tears, and the challenges that my kids have faced are real adult challenges. And I believe not enough of us talk about it.
As they grow up, there is a totally different dynamic that is amazing and hard as well.
Whether I take them to maple view farm, or when they cook for me, or they take me on a cruise with them (I am so lucky), or drive them to the grocery store or to get our nails done….I am so proud of all of them.
I AM PROUD TO BE THE MOTHER OF JASON, LARA, & CHLOE
I AM PROUD TO BE THE STEPMOM OF JESSEE, JOE, & SAMMY
I AM PROUD TO BE THE MOTHER IN HEART OF MICKAELA.
Happy mothers day to all of you mothers out there…and remember that social media don’t say it all.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
